Epica Awards 2003

I thought that I would post this because when I think of great graphic design this is probably the first thing that comes to mind. I find it inspiring because it's innovative and shows that graphic design doesn't have to be something thats kept strictly to a computer. I enjoy the fact that you get to read and see pictures of the process, as well as view pictures of the finished product.

Mood Board Inspiration

Here is a little insight into the development of a mood board: Getting Moody: A Look at Inspiration and Style... and here is another great article about Mood Boards and Inspiration.

GD2: Hierarchy exercise

With the following text, create 3 simple variations using one type family. Remember to signal hierarchy with one or more cues: line break, type style, type size, rules, and so on.

Think with the Senses.
Feel with the Mind.
Art in the Present Tense.
Venice Biennale
52nd international Art Exhibition
10 June – 21 November
National and Regional Pavillions
and Presentations.
Parallel Exhibitions and Projects.

After you are done, put all text boxes onto one page, print, and hand in with your name on it!

This is one of my favorite website designs because it's so hilarious http://spam.com/. This is the official website for SPAM(the food)... no really, it is.

btw, make sure to have the audio on and explore the whole site. It's pretty comical.

reverse graffiti project

Thought you guys might think this was pretty cool. The Reverse Graffiti Project. "In San Fran, an English graffiti artist and a critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker came together while the city slept, to create an environmentally friendly work of art and a film about a philosophy of clean." Check out the site and clips here.

external hardrives & flash drives

Here are some hard drives that would great for using and backing up work. Definitely read the reviews and all the information before deciding on which one is best...

LaCie Rugged All-Terrain Hard Drive, 250GB, $190
LaCie Little Disk Drive, 250GB, $160

and here are some flash drives that could work too...

Crucial Gizmo, 4GB, $35
Kingston Data Traveler, 2GB, $20

These are definitely not required and you don't necessarily have to buy these specific ones, these are merely suggestions that you can use in order to find the right hard drive/flash drive for you.

You also do not have to buy these from the links I provided, sometimes it's good to shop around on the web to find the best deal!

If you have any questions, feel free to email me; and if you have any recommendations for external hard drives or flash drives, please let us know!
